Dear Latin Teacher,
How would you give a Latin translation for "on this day"?
Thanks, DC
Dear DC,
The Latin word for "today", hodie, is actually a contraction of the Latin Phrase meaning "On this day": Hoc Die.
It's in the ablative case to express Time When. Some other Latin translations:
On that day = illo die
On the same day = eodem die
On the next day = postero die
Hope this helps and thanks for asking a Latin teacher.
Sincerely,
John
