Latin Phrases: Believe in Yourself

by Nat
(Australia)

Hi Latin Teacher,

I would like to know what the Latin version of believe in yourself is. I have searched a few web sites and have gotten a few different answers. Tibi fide, Tibi crede, In te ipsum crede. Can you translate them for me, thanks!

Hi Nat,

Tibi fide means trust yourself, tibi crede means believe in yourself. As for in te ipsum crede, I'd have to see a source citation to believe that it is correct Latin. It doesn't seem right to me.

Hope this helps and thanks for asking a Latin teacher.

Sincerely,

John
