How do you say 'Seize the day or die trying' in Latin?
Noagh
Dear Noagh,
Try this: Aut carpe diem aut morere conans.
The carpe diem is from Horace I.11. The second half is my own translation. I hate to put clunky Latin next to Horace, who was perhaps Rome's greatest lyric poet.
morere is the command die, while conans is the participle trying.
Hope this helps, and thanks for asking a Latin teacher.
Sincerely,
John
