Latin Tattoo: Time Heals All Wounds

by A. Sommer
(AK)

Please, What would "time heals all wounds" translate to? Along with "we are who we choose to be."

Dear A.,

I very rarely advise readers on phrases for Latin tattoos. The reason is that a direct word-for-word translation in rarely possible from English to Latin. And readers are never satisfied with the idea rewritten in Latin. Your first phrase, however, seems to work easily. So:

Time heals all wounds: Tempus omnia vulnera sanat.

Hope this helps, and thanks for asking a Latin teacher.

Sincerely,

John
